This image shows an ice cave on the Kamchatka Peninsula of Russia. The cave was formed by a stream flowing beneath glacial ice on Mutnovsky volcano; the stream originated from the hot springs associated with Mutnovsky. Glaciers on the Kamchatka volcanoes have been melting recently, so the roof of this cave is now so thin that sunlight easily penetrates it. Photographer Michael Zelensky
